The Rangers also fired their hitting coach today, they went in to today's game with a MLB 4th highest AVG despite being in the lower half for BABIP.

Never understood why you need a hitting coach in baseball. Do these guys actually forget how to hit after 10-15 years playing in the minor and major leagues? I never heard of Messi, Ronaldo or Rooney needing a shooting coach to tell them how to shoot the soccer ball at the goal.

It is strange Pavy. There are goaltending coaches in the NHL. I find this really strange. How can you teach or convince a 27-30 year old goalie to change their style? It's almost impossible. I can see goalie coaches in Jr or even the AHL to assist young goalies and their development, but a 30+ year old goalie does not need a goalie coach. If a goalie has a weak glove hand then his head coach willspot that and tell his assistants to work on that weakness in practise and during the off season.

This move by the FLA front office was strictly a "warning shot" move.

It puts everyone (the manager, the players) on notice that more moves are right around the corner if things don't change.

I think for baseball it's just a guessing game when you can't read the signs of the opposing team. If you swing at strikes you will most likely get hits. If you swing at balls you will most likely not hit the ball or pop out or ground out.
