An excerpt from ''The Accountant's Story'' by Roberto Escobar, Pablo Escobar's brother and accountant. ''The operation spent $2,500 a month just purchasing rubber bands to wrap the stacks of cashand since they had more illegal money than they could deposit in the banks, they stored the bricks of cash in their warehouses, annually writing off 10% as "spoilage" when the rats crept in at night and nibbled on the hundred dollar bills.''

$2,500 a month is a lot of rubber bands...And 10% ''spoilage'' would suck when you consider the Medelln Cartel during the height of its operations, brought in more than $60 million per day. (yea $60 million a DAY)

But hey what ya' gonna do ? In 1989, Forbes magazine declared Escobar as the seventh richest man in the world. Money to burn...Like $2 million in cash in one night...just to keep warm. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worl...n-the-run.html
Millionaire at 22...shot dead at 44, life in the fast lane.
