a little bit.

My little nephew just had his first piano lesson - using an old keyboard I gave him - and we got an email with news that it went very well.

This was part of my reply:

Hey if he ever wants the actual piano, he can have it. It would have to be tuned. I would guess I haven't played it for almost 4 years - since I got my new keyboard that I use with my software.

Musical instruments are mystical sorts of things to me that lie somewhere between inanimate objects and living things - so I have strong feelings for that piano - and it would feel good to think it will have an interesting new chapter - and not just with some stranger.

Don't know to what extent anyone will relate to this, and did not see it coming myself, but ---> :tears:

when my oldest boy scored a hat trick last year I almost cried because his 3rd goal was a beauty. He got cut from the Competitive hockey team on Friday and I'm not at all happy with the decision. I broke the news to him Saturday morning and he cried his eyes out. He still doesn't understand how he got cut, but explaining things to him is a waste of my time. Politics in hockey is an evil thing here in Canada. It happens everywhere. Lots of kids get cut because they have to be passed over because of connections somewhere down the line. Evaluators suck. Dishonest bastids!!!!

Poor old piano. That's what I think when I look over there.

Don't know why. While he is definitely an old guy - way older than me - 117 years old to be exact - but he also projects to keep going long after I'm gone.

He's like a sea turtle over there.
