Yes, South America should get an extra team. 4 auto spots + 1 playoff with a Concacaf team and the host for a possible 6 total but at least guaranteed 5. Africa gets 5 teams because there are so many African countries qualifying 50+. I have a bet that South America wins it, South America have always won it when held in the southern hemisphere. :)
 
Cool, so does Brazil not even play in qualifying? Don't they want the practice.

So, we would only need to finish 5th out of 9 to at least get a playoff. You'd think we could beat peru, bolvia, ecuador, and venezuela.
 
I'm seriously considering going to Brazil in 2014. I have a friend from Sau Paulo (?) and he some family there.


Juror or anyone that knows: Are there any legitimate security issues traveling in that country or is it pretty laid back? What is the typical cost of attending a World Cup match? Are tickets hard to come by?
 
Brazil is not laid back at all, you need to be on a higher alert than most other countries. (at least when you are out of the tourist spots)

On a safety level 1 being the safest and 10 being the riskiest, I would say Colombia 4 south Africa 7 brazil 8
 
Ticket cost I don't know, i have payed for champions league tix at the last minute for $200-$400, I imagine something like that

From what I've read FIFA is giving away a shit lot of tickets for this WC if not it would even be more empty matches

I don't think they had to resort to giving them away in the end. There were issues of foreigners not wanting to go to SA on safety issues (which stopped a lot of Europeans but strangely didn't put off the Americans) but the ticket prices were heavily discounted so that the locals could attend and fill the stadiums.
