I am wondering if anyone can expand on this quote from a Toronto Star article that was posted here a few days ago.

The U.S., a huge market estimated at $5.4 billion last year, is on the cusp of ending a four-year ban on Internet gamblingan industry estimated at $20 billion worldwide.

A totally separate article I found on that web site Kato

The judge in the case has agreed to delay sentencing for six months. In that time, McMaster will have the opportunity to travel around the country and play in poker tournaments. If he successfully pays back the investors he defrauded, the judge will issue a much lesser sentence than the twelve year maximum.

Talk about playing poker under pressure. I would hate to be at his table after a bad beat.

See, something like this makes sense. At least find some way to pay back the people. These people can't get their money back with him in jail. Everybody's sports gambling so legalize it please US of A. Get some tax money collected. Of course I probably wouldn't be paying any taxes. Wonder if they would have credits available? :dunno:

Online winnings are supposed to be taxed now.

The scary part is if they do this 50% tax on deposits to unlicensed operators. That could apply to any sports betting deposits being as they would still be not legal. I really don't want to work at McDonalds.

Are there McD's in Colombia? You might be able to buy one.
