I hear the saying, "LIFE IS SHORT", all the time.

But is it?

I just heard a John Couger Melloncamp song that was on heavy rotation when I was like 8 years old.

That was a REALLY long time ago!

I guess if you get hit by a bus when you're 11 years old then life IS short but right now I would have to disagree with those that would say life is short.

Tell an 82 year old with Alzeihmers that life is short.

It just dawned on me that this could have gone in the Random Thoughts thread but I'm posting from my phone and it would be too much trouble at this point.

YES Polaroid! I've posted that many times... You only get one chance to dance

And yes Daffy, I think it's too short. I used to lay awake at night and have panic attacks about never being able to read and learn things again. Then it changed to kind of heavy breathing panic attacks about my dog dying. Then it was massive full blown psycho alert attacks about my son dying.

Now I'm ok again. I love my life and my little existence in the world. Yeah I want to see every single thing my son ever does but if I can't, that's ok too. I'm a very lucky chick in many ways so I'll take however long I can get. :)

pavy, you sound miserable now so you won't have to worry about being 65 before being miserable. i am looking forward to 65 (free fishing license in texas). god willing and all that rot, i'm hoping to out live both of my grandfathers who were well into their 90s.

so my son had one of those fake wakeups before he actually wakes up. very manic-y and just wanted me to blow this long kind of whistle toy into his face for a bit over an hour. so i'd blow it, he'd giggle and repeat. and then i'd try to hide the stupid thing behind my back but he'd go find it and put it back in my mouth.

and i thought of this thread during it. i relate to bread alot when he talks about the reality of life. i don't always say it because i try to just remain happy and positive but that's the stuff that upsets me when my life is quiet enough so i can think. i don't want to die. i don't mind getting old but i just can't imagine the world functioning when i'm not there. i don't want my son not to have a mom. i have no parents any more and i'm a fruit loop so i kind of could use them right now. i'd like to stay around forever for my kid. so i'd appreciate it if you math nerds could figure out a way for me to do that instead of worrying about trying to beat a book on an off line. kthx xoxo

That is an adorable scene with your son oxy. You really need to put alot of your sons shenanigans on tape so you and your boy will appreciate his comedy later in life. My parents have so few things of my childhood on videotape or anything really, I asked my dad where are all of my school writings, all my childhood drawings, I mean what the hell.

I think he must have been upstairs with my aunt and my other relatives taking turns putting my drawings in the paper shredder, he used to criticize my artwork, LOL. , but I mean come on, it was preschool. I think my teachers must have been in the teachers lounge laughing at my drawing and poems because there is so little things from my childhood. LOL

Save those moments, kids today are lucky with the explosion of video, so much of their life is recorded. You are very lucky to have a son and have moments like that oksana, he sounds like a wonderful kid. I bet you dont get alot of sleep though.

I only plan ahead for a few months. Who knows what will happen in 30 years? I should be happy if the world doesn't end next year.
