I have a chicken breast marinating right now in some delicious sauces and a bottle of Cabernet (2007) will be getting popped very soon.

I'll be around too. It's been a slow day at the Scholar residence as I've spent the afternoon eviscerating Peep and some other dinosaurs at OGD. So now my posting juices are flowing but the old-timers appear to have run out of steam. Like Daft I'm baking some salmon and preparing to drink far too much wine for my own good.

Let's do this thing.

I totally agree. What's even better is that my particular salmon filet represents a celebration of the return of the salmon to my part of the Pacific. For the last two years our commercial salmon fishery has been closed due to extremely low numbers, but this year we're starting to see a rebound. This fish was just caught yesterday by my neighbor who owns a salmon charter boat where for the first time since the fishery closed that everyone on the boat caught the limit. It's nice to have something providential to celebrate.
