Or you could be like Bacon and get caught in the infamous scan/repair never ending LOOP and waiting days for a disc, especially if you were too stupid to make a restart disc prior! Stupid Bacon for trusting microplop after an expected shutdown and clicking on the pop up! All of their automatic "services" have more filthy holes than your mama! Don't do it!

FML!! And yours as well!! :mudcat:
 
yeah, I got W8 with my new computer. I know its gonna screw me sooner or later. Why can't mofos leave well enough alone? W7 is cool, does anybody need all that shit on their screen? unreal

Plommer, can you post for me again that program which prevents all the ads popping in?

My laptop has been asking for an update to 8.1 but I haven't done it yet. I'm cruising just fine with my W8.

Mine had been asking for a while and I finally did it cuz I was having some ITunes issues and I thought that may have been the problem. It would start and then get stuck on the installation...apparently that is quite common. I finally gave up and just left my computer running and about 12 hours later it installed on its own. I do like it better, but I had not really ever "gotten" W8. This is more like 7, and I think that is why I like it.
 
Report - it finally went into a screen where I could "refresh" or completely overhaul windows. Did refresh and lost just about everything not preloaded with the machine. At this point thankful for that. Go call your local newspaper - Bacon's dual monitors are back, baby.
 
I feel bad for that guy replacing his hard drive. We verified that was not the the problem, it's a glitch that happens after updates sometimes when one does Window's scan/repair, of course initiated by Windows, all you have to to is accept :lol:. Maybe he will realize that a few hundred $ later :cono:
