I think the vast majority of us grew up and went through jr high and high school without the internet being a huge thing...especially socially. at age 33 for me, I barely paid attention to the internet in college. I do remember when we got it in high school but I didn't spend more than 20 mins a week on it.

If for some crazy apocolyptical reason, the internet disappeared for everyone all over the world, to never be re-connected. HOW DIFFERENT WOULD YOUR LIFE LOOK?

I for one miss writing and getting actual letters. I'd like to get back to that, but the internet made me lazy in regards to writing letters.

Where would you get your porn? would porn dvd rental shops sprout up all over the world and be a booming business? would there be porn "red-box" type kiosks pop up all over the super market industry?

Local bookies would again thrive...

I would watch the 11 o'clock news again, and buy newspapers alot more.... I'd get out more and spend alot more time with friends and exploring the outside world.....

How would your life be different?

sure they are still around Reno.... Mostly for truckers and computer illiterate old fucks.....but I think that if there was no internet the supply would not meet the demand by a long shot and you could open up a porn shop and make a killing in many advantageous locations....

Yes Emmi, I think Long Term it would be a great thing for us all. Most of us would experience a great deal of short term discomfort though

Honestly, I think some people would jump off of rooftops. I would feel lost as well, I admit that. The other day I had a long conversation with an old friend of mine. We were sitting in a cafe, I was smelling his aftershave, tasting from his antipasti, and I saw not just pictures and words but also the spark in his eyes and how some food was stuck in his teeth as we laughed. We forget about what really counts, sometimes.
