Wasn't the culmination of the 100 page thread was that he had made up the entire story?

I think there was no way he made that up...that isn't him to go into that much detail when making up a lie. The culmination is that he realized that these people around here know more about him than anyone in the real world that he actually hangs out with and he couldn't take it. He actually liked the girl and didn't take kindly to everyone pushing buttons and busting balls.
