Last two times I have poured my favorite vodka and soda, I have ended up with my face turning beet red and my heart racing in my chest.
It happened to me the other day and was after a very long day and on an empty stomach...same sort of thing today after another long day, not eating enough.

Weird shit; I almost went to the hospital this time.... an hour later and I'm as if it never happened.

Has anything like this ever happened to anyone here with any food or drink? I'm kind of afraid to even drink ANY booze at the moment.

Apparently it can happen overnight... maybe it is a fertilizer or something in the potatoes in the vodka?

It could also be partly that a friend of mine from work recently died and I know he drank too much..maybe it is all psychological?

:dunno:

I have not had it happen personally, but quick google search indicates that it is a fairly common affliction with a range of different scenarios ranging from anxiety to benign SVT to thyroid issues. I would do some research and talk to your doctor. I would definitely lay off the booze though til you figure it out....scary shit I'm sure.

Several people said dehydration could be a contributing factor.

Anxiety could be a factor for sure; My mom is not well and we do not really know what to expect with the situation.

I have had the soda from this box and there was no issue. Im hoping that it is just either some pesticide in the batch of potatoes or the stress that I have been under. Dehydration could easily be an issue IAG. I will have to experiment a bit when I am not working.

Do you have anyone in your life who doesn't like your drinking who might be in a position to slip you something?

Okay, I'm 99.9% kidding but your reaction sounds like descriptions I've heard of people drinking on disulfuram (antabuse).

No way Muddy but I do think that there may be something different about this bottle of my vodka... The sensation came on just as I had just about finished a measured shot mixed with ice and a can of soda...nothiing fancy
