It reminds me of a warehouse job I had ~10 years ago where they piped in a top 40 station all day long. You'd hear the same rotation of crap songs over and over. There were those boy bands and Britney and Christina and Celine Dion. Over and over all day. OMFG it was awful.

Bye, Bye, Bye happens to be one of the specific songs I would hear about 6 times a day on that job. If I ever hear it again I'm afraid the PTSD will kick in and I'll just start pummeling the nearest bystander.

MF, I believe it's the 10 year rotation that's bringing those songs back, since they both had #1 albums in 2000. I don't know if it's just anecdotal, but when I was working with the musician's union in Portland I posed pretty much the same question in their office and the consensus was that popular radio tries to rehabilitate songs at the 10, 15 and 20 year intervals after their release. I think that's why I'm hearing a lot of BoyzIIMen and Seal on the radio lately too, because they had hits that are now 15 years old this summer. I think it's only fair to warn you that "Ice Ice, Baby" turns 20 years old this November. I'm not sure, but it could be a herald of the Apocalypse.
