But since it's the start of televised spring training today, I have the Mets and the White Sox at 50Pennies. The Mets will be on MLB Network, starting in 10 minutes, and the White Sox on Fox Sports West, I believe.

Baseball, don't break my heart/wallet again this year, I want to learn to coexist peacefully with you during the summer.
 
Oooh. Televised games. I guess it's time to shift my focus to my MLB spreadsheets and research.

I don't start placing full bets until about 20 games into the regular season but there is no limit to the preparation I can do. I have more ideas about new angles to research than Carters has little liver pills.

Last season was both very good in and of itself and promising for the future. This topic has given me a little tingle.
 
RS, never thought i would wager on the bases but it is such an intriguing wagering game. Jello knows his stuff and hopefully we will have to be good as a whole forum since lots of GLTPODs will come into play. Expect lots of interest with it? Phils-Yanks start on local Philly channel as we speak. Thanks for a reminder! :thumbup:
 
MrMonkey, I'll attempt to appreciate the intrigue vicariously, since I've never been able to enjoy baseball purely as a sport. Consequently, this is when most of my wagering dollars shift towards tennis, but like you I hope to be exposed to a lot of quality information about bases thanks to the All-Star posting/handicapping cast we have here at GL.

Hey, I'm just thrilled to know that I once occupied a place of prominence in your GL poster rankings. That's pretty cool, considering I never got the opportunity to post much with you on S-faggot-R. You were an enigma to me over there, but since we've been together on GL the feelings have been entirely mutual. I think above average in your estimation is a very high compliment indeed.

Sorry about the baseball, but when I was a kid my Dad super-saturated me with it when I didn't profess any latent interest in it to begin with. Baseball players just aren't as cute on average as the other major sports. Their most notable contributions to the sport on defense being so subtle, it's just not a great TV sport in my estimation. I'm willing to hear your side of the equation though, so please feel free to set me straight, as it were.
