I am a little concerned and annoyed that an Australian book is following the lead of Paddy Power.
I wonder if they are related to Paddy Power?

I am leaning to that conclusion as my main sportsbook is Centrebet which is also Australian and they have not said anything.

They don't reference any law as there isn't one, I believe that some of the provinces are awarding a contract to the writers of Paddy Powers software and one of the requirements is that they purge any existing Canadian accounts from their system.

I expect IASbet will follow suit and close my account too.

As long as I will be able to play at Centrebet & Sportsalive I'll be fine.

Centrebet is by far my favourite and most useful book.

I agree with the author 100%. When pushed with valid questions Paddy Power reverts to reading a script.

Bottom line is that there is no "Canadian Law" being broken and Paddy Power cannot substantiate its claim.

I never even funded my Paddy Power account and won't miss them, I am more annoyed by the deceit on there part.

I never played with them because they offered such shit lines on hockey, much like Victor Chandler.

The vast majority of my NHL bets are with matchbook, Centrebet and 5 Dimes.

Centrebet allows parlays on 60 minute lines, whereas US facing books do not, most US facing books don't even offer 60 minute lines.

In late Dec 2010 Paddy bought the remaining shares of Sportsbet. Now they wholly own it.
