Prolly not enough games in the CFL to ever get super big and hypie. 9 teams now. For years there were only 8. Kinda goes back and forth. In any case, 3-4 games a week is not much to get mega momentum going.

People can bet it if they want. Plenny happy fans regardless.

That's the CFL.

Can someone explain how is a team scoring 1 point? I saw a score one day on ESPN and it was 29-1.

You get 1 point for a missed field goal if the ball isn't brought out of the endzone on the miss.

2 points for a safety, and CFL teams almost always give up safeties when punting inside their own 10 yd line

So let me get this straight. If the game is tied 28-28 and there is 5 seconds left. A team can attempt a FG, kick it in the stands nowhere near between the uprights and win the game 29-28? That's a heck of a way to win a game.

The thing is the team defending can run the ball out of the endzone and back for a touchdown the other way OR just kick the ball out of their own endzone to avoid giving up the 1 point.

Basically there are no touchbacks in the CFL like the NFL. On a punt into the end zone or a missed field goal, the team receiving the ball must always make a strategic decision whether to concede the point and get field position (35 yard line - bear in mind that it is a 110 yard long field) or else run the ball out, save the point and get the best position they can scrap for (or, in extreme cases, just kick the ball back).

It's all different than the NFL. The field goal posts are at the goal line rather than 10 yards back. The end zone itself is 25 yards deep rather than 10 so not as many balls just sail right through the back.

I'm sure there are all kinds of subtle points an expert could add to what I said but anyway ---> whole bunch of strategy surrounding the single point (known as the rouge).
