Sad news to report on the Brian Burke family front.

His youngest boy Brendan ( who just announced he was gay) was killed in a highway accident in Indiana this afternoon. Being a father of 2 boys myself, I just couldn't imagine the pain this man is going through right now. Sad news indeed!!!

Sad news. Brendan was involved as a manager or something with Miami of Ohio's hockey team.

Very sad news. I just could not imagine how it would feel to lose a child.

Anyways.....Burke has the Leafs headed in the right direction. He fleeced Sutter and Murray on Sunday. The return he got in the Phaneuf deal is impressive. Dumping Blake's contract on Anaheim should make him GM/Executive of the year. Blake is useless and will be 39 when his $4 million/year cap hit contract expires. I smell a buyout at the end of next season.

Not front page new, well, I think it was on the CBC website, or maybe thestar.
