They find themselves down 3-0 early. There is absolutely ZERO chance this offense puts up 3 runs this game. Terribly anemic.

Short term positive variance is the answer here. In other positive variance news, the Houston Astros (like the Padres) have an 8-2 record over their last 10 games.

Starting pitching has been strong and the bullpen has been great...today was not an example with Latos but he will be gone when Chris Young is back.

Headley and AGon get enough runs for the pen to hold the lead..Padres will be in the mix all the way through.

Besides Gonzalez, there is nobody in their lineup that I ever have faith can get on base. There will be games where they need to score some runs and I just don't think they can.
