According to a Food Safety News investigation, more than a third of honey consumed in the US has been smuggled from China and may be tainted with illegal antibiotics and heavy metals. To make matters worse, some honey brokers create counterfeit honey using a small amount of real honey, bulked up with sugar, malt sweeteners, corn or rice syrup, jaggery (a type of unrefined sugar) and other additivesknown as honey laundering. This honey is often mislabeled and sold on as legitimate, unadulterated honey in places such as Europe and the US.

Don't they have a big cartel in Canada for maple syrup?

How the fuck would I know?
I was only born here, I don't know 100% of everything that goes on within our borders, more like 1/100th of 1%.

But if I had to guess I'd say yeah, if money is involved there is probably something shady going on.

Pavy everything is corrupt in our world pal.

:lmao: Muddy.

I love honey, I put in my tea, and I like peanut butter and honey sandwiches. I like organic honey with nothing added. Or at least that's what I think it is? hmmmm, time to start rethinking my honey brand.

All honey is organic unless they use genetically engineered bees.

I mean organic as in nothing added, no sugar, maple, anything, just straight up honey. It's best at the little markets...I like the summer time when you can get it right from the bee keeper himself, though I haven't found a place like that here yet....the hunt continues.

Oic..the correct term is virgin for what you like..like virgin olive oil.

It is very dissapointing to hear that stuff like this is going on in the world today, but i wouldn'y take the numbers in this reports or stats too seriously. They tend to exagerate volumes, percentages, numbers etc. for various reasons: politics, coruption, commercial purposes ... Don't get me wrong, i'm sure that dodgy things are happening, just do not take these figures too close to your heart.
