my best friend lived with mike nicklaus for his 4 years a ga.tech ... we got to stay with jack, barbara, mike and one of his brothers, gary, in north palm beach one summer... my buddy was trying to qualify for the golden bear mini tour and jack let us stay at the house with them... just normal folks who eat, shit and put their pants on 1 leg at a time... i hit balls with jack for a few hours a few days and played 36 holes with him that week... he was coming off a surgery and wasnt really competitive at the time... meeting/spending time with famous people is great and all, but ill never understand the fascination with autographs or idolizing people/athletes the way some people do...

For me I rarely purzoo autographs but when I do it's from someone who has established accomplishment in something I want to be good at. For instance I might break a backboard and send it to poster housepicks to sign.

he isnt in the same league as pete dye or donald ross, no doubt... but his best stuff is some of the best in the world... his co. might do too much volume and develop scenic mediocre courses for the main purpose of building houses around .. Palmers group is definitely guilty of that too
