Went online to check my checking account balance and noticed 2 charges that I never put on my debit card, one for $39.97 and the other for $39.18. There was a .com name next to the charges (same for both) so I went to Google to check it out. The whole first page was claims made by people who had been charged by this and never made purchases so I went to the bank to put a stop payment.

While at the bank the teller explained it would be easier and less costly to just cancel the card and order a new one. There was a phone number to the company that had charged my account so while she was doing the paperwork I called. It was a foreign accent and she would tell me anything about the company or any information what so ever just told me she would submit it to their administrators and they would get back to me within 48 to 72 hours. The company was EPGBill so I assume they are just a billing company anyways who handles billing for a number of businesses. It really doesnt matter though because I never bought anything during the dates or times on my statement nor any other time for the amounts charged.

The $80 is gone and I dont care about the money just hate knowing I got took.

Did, done, waiting.

Amby, how do I get the money back until I discover who the charges are actually from and even then wouldn't it have to be a legal matter through the company and not through my bank? The bank rep never mentioned or offered any assistance beyond re-issuing a card.

As long you told the bank that the charges are fradulent...the bank is supposed to take care of the rest. They refund the money and then do an investigation on their end. If it is found it is indeed fraudulent, you keep the money if they found that you lied or something...they take the money back out of your account.

I will have to check into that on Monday, just assumed all responsibility was on my end.

CC company handles everything from my experiences.
just had to do a chargeback on Xbox a few weeks ago.
somehow my 3yr old ordered a shitload of Xbox points and Xbox live cause my card was saved on there from a previous purchase.

yea, dont have clue how he done it, but he can find games and all the other shit so I'm assuming he was pushing buttons.
no other explanation for it
dispute is pending though, had my card blocked from Xbox though
