pico, I can relate and have a story as proof.
I had a casual friend and we used to hang out. Nothing serious but we were cool with one another. When I met her she worked as a waitress/bartender here in town. She was seperated from her loser husband when I was spending time with her and even though she was making decent monet bartending and waitressing she figure (and rightfully so) she could make more money stripping. It was her first week dancing and her birthday was that same week. She didn't have but a couple of outfits stripper appropiate so as a birthday gift I bought her a couple of things from the French Addition here in Gainesville. I wanted to surprise her so I went to the club to give them to her. As I am waiting one of the strippers comes over and ask me if I wanted a dance. I politely tell her no, that I am there for Diamond, my friends real not stripper name. This girl says, "oh, are you her father"? I greyed instantly. I had a lump in my throat and I was actually fighting back a friggin tear. Diamond got her birthday gift but I never again visited her while she was at work.
