I use ebay all the time.

1. Do research to see what your shit is selling for. Selling a coach purse, search for coach purses, find some comparables and get an idea of what you will fetch for it. If your not satisfied with the current price of items like yours (or even up to 20% less) don't even bother, donate it for the tax deduction instead.

2. Describe the item accurately, every rip, tear, stain.

3. List for 7 day auctions on a Sunday around 5pm. Auctions ending on Sunday get 10-20% more value and 5pm let's people on both coasts get a crack at it.(

4. Know your shipping cost. A pair of jeans will cost 8$ to ship anywhere in the country. Cashmere sweater - 4$.

5. Be prepared to get less. The reality is no one, except those mopes in the middle of the country and are 10 years behind in fashion (and everything for that matter), wants your shit. If you paid $120, you get 20-30.

Good luck!

You want your auctions to end around 9pm on sun-tue nights (best days and times to sell). I look to buy during the afternoon when there is less competition. I agree with the above post about donating and getting more for the tax write-off.

This is REALLY great advice thank you!

a few of the things i am going to list: please feel free to edit, those of you who have sold on ebay before. I will be posting a lot more photos of the item on ebay, just giving you guys the main pics for now.

Kate spade black leather shoulder bag

IMG_1747.JPG

A beautiful lightly used black leather Kate Spade shoulder bag originally purchased at Nordstrom. Two outside pockets are perfect for your phone and keys. I love this bag, but alas my style has changed. There is only one slight flaw – my cat very very lightly scratched the flap that fits into the buckle part of one of the outside pockets – I took a picture of it, but it’s so fair that it’s barely noticeable. Inside is classic green with black polka dot fabric with a zipper pocket and two little pockets. Purse can easily hold a large wallet, phone, keys, kindle or book, cosmetic case with all of your things like lipstick and foundation etc., even a small umbrella. You will be shocked how much this purse can hold. It fits comfortably over your shoulder, and on it’s own is very light weight. Original cost was approx. $200.
Dimensions:
Price: $60
Shipping: $10

Impulse sparkly evening or prom Clutch and Shoulder Back

Don’r worry about matching it to your shoes, this bag is a statement on its own. The perfect size to fit your iphone, lipstick, ID, Credit Cards and Cash (or a small card holder wallet) and small camera to snap pics of your great night out! Bag can be carried over your shoulder, by holding the chain, or remove the chain and show it off as the perfect sized clutch. Original cost was approx. $40

Price: $10
Shiiping: $5

Yellow sun dress and/or swim cover up
IMG_1764.jpg

This flirty sun dress or swim suit cover up (wear it either way) is your go to outfit for your next vacation! Summer might be coming to a close, but this sunny yellow dress will have you thinking of nothing but summer. Size large, originally purchased at Nordstrom, there are no flaws to the dress. The fabric has see through cut outs, that add a certain sexy vibe to the cute cut. The empire waste naturally accentuates your best curves. Original cost was over $50. Fits more like a medium, even though it is a large.
Size: Large (fits like a medium)
Fabric: Cotton
Price: $20
Shipping: $5

Juicy Couture grey cotton dress with gold buttons
IMG_1788.jpg

This sweet cotton dress is perfect for the fall, pair it with boots and thigh high socks in the fall, and with tights and a sweater in the winter. The ties on the sides that wrap and tie in back allow you to modify the cinching of the waste to best fit your body. The dainty gold buttons down the front chest draw the eye upward There is a very small hole in the dress over the right chest area by the buttons (As seen in the photo) this is easily fixable, however it may leave a slight pucker. Other than that this dress is in great condition. Authentic Juicy (I bought it when I worked for the store in college), this dress flew off the racks and sold out in a matter of days. Perfect for work and play, this dress is made for you. Fits true to size. Original price approx. $120
Size: Medium
Fabric: Cotton
Price: $30
Shipping: $5

The photos aren't very good at all - either it's the lighting or the camera or a combination of both. Take pictures during the day with as much natural light coming through the windows and use a proper camera rather than your phone (which I suspect you used).

Anything second hand and without a recognized label is very hard to sell for anything approaching the effort taken to list the things. Nobody is going to pay $25 for a second hand Nordstrom dress that cost $50. Anyone in the $25 market would go Ross or a thrift store before going on eBay.

You need a close up of the cat claw incident on the shoulderbag (circle it if it's hard to see) purely to prove that you really can't notice it.

I agree with evertything polaroid says. The designer stuff is really all that is worth selling on ebay (tho I did just sell jcrew 100% cashmere at an 85% discount).

I would keep the cat part out, some people are funny about pet owners stuff. Just call it a scratch. Otherwise, good descriptions, good personalization and sales speak. Oh also, on the designer shit put 100% authentic and how you know it is (1 owner, I purchased from bloomies, w/e). That's a big deal.

i used my $600 cannon. i edited the pic in photoshop to enhance color. i think they're fine and it took me over 2 hours ot take every angle pic and the edit them. so i'm not going to dot hat agin. if the item doesn't sell, then i'll retake the pics.

all of those things are brand names. you have never heard of Juicy or Kate Spade? Oh I guess I left it off the yellow dress - it's ralph lauren.

i have a close up of the cat claw, as i stated, i'm not going to post every pic i took on here. in the description i said (see pic) or whatever. there will be a pic.

how about one note of positivity not all criticism? thank god you're not a teacher.
