Some 3:30 EST action for the people lucky to not be working to take in. Took UConn -2 and the line appears to be going up in most places.
Looking at just some number predictions and rankings, Statfox has Nova 88 UConn 87, Kenpom Nova 73-72, and Sargain has UConn 89.84 to 88.63 for Nova. SOS is about even with Nova being 2-0 against the top 25 while UConn is 3-2.
The biggest reason IMO UConn will cover is Dominic Cheek is out for Nova and he plays a big part in coming off the bench averaging 20+ minutes a game. Somebody has to step in? They rank almost 300 out 345 teams in the % of minutes their bench plays.
Also the timing and spot of the game. Nova has beaten 3 straight quality teams at home with the last game against Maryland in reality should have been a loss. UConn tough playing at home and being 3-2 as compared to Nova's 4-0 in conference means in the back of the Wildcat's minds a loss wouldn't hurt that bad.
UConn is young and relies heavily for scoring from one guy but a key stat to observe in this game is how many 2nd chance opportunities Nova's gets? Nova have been out rebounding teams by a wide margin but against UConn that should not be the case. Plus UConn is the 6th best offensive rebounding team in the country so Nova better protect their own boards.
Hopefully from my take when Walker is not scoring he is passing to guys for easy baskets underneath the basket. We shall see?
