If you lived in Philly and had inquired about interest rates on the internet. Of note, my buddy of 30 years does actually know Brian Propp. Attached is an application on our letterhead.

Title: Your Flyers Box Seats courtesy of Steve at ******** Mortgage

Content:
Ok, I doubt that would happen but I have a good friend who knows Flyers legend Brian "Propper" Propp so you never know.
I have been trying to get a hold of you to try to talk about improving your mortgage situation, as per the inquiry you put in on the internet.
Email the attached application back to me, Fax it back to ********** or me or call me back at ********** and let's see what we can do.
Go Flyers, 2011 NHL Champions.
-Steve

it's ballsy...

boldness is always awarded in sales, go for it...

Yeah I say screw it - the key is to get dialogue going; any dialogue. I could talk about the Flyers with them anytime they want if they sign...and we all know that talking about the Flyers with Stevek173 is one of the true great things this life has to offer.

exactly....

it's different, not canned, and what are they going to say to you???

no...then give them a great deal, kill them with 2 pts because of the economy and tell them to name their next child Stevek173

I don't like it. It reminds me of Mr. Yokohama, a distant cousin of mine from Antarctica who left me $35,000,000 in his will, and all I had to do was send my personal information and social security number to his lawyer to claim it. I'm still waiting on my check six months later which he said would be sent immediately...

Wait you know him too?

We should call him on 3-way and get to the bottom of this.

shows desperation to me, and that your likely full of shit...
just my opinion though, nothing personal

All good man and I agree it comes across as cheesy.

I do find though that a lot of these people I work with just want a friend to goof off on the phone with for the most part as long as the numbers stick.

Sure there are "shoppers" that want to talk business all the time that this would instantly turn off, but to be honest I don't like working with them.
