Someone told me this years ago and it has stuck with me. They said that if you take meds in the morning and follow them up with coffee, it negates the meds completely.

I know that's not true absolutely because for years I have been taking my cholesterol pill first thing in the morning - and immediately drinking 3-4 cups of coffee - and my cholesterol level stays good. But as I now have another prescription (don't ask what for) I am wondering if there is any truth to it.

Ever hear of anything like that?

Caffeine being a drug itself, Can definately interact and effect different medicines in many different ways.

It definately doesn't NEGATE all medicines.

if anything I would think it would enhance the effects or side effects of the medicine because Caffeine will raise the metabolism and increase digestion speed.

I would refer to the fine print on each type of medicine to see what all it interacts with and how it is effected by different commonly used medicines. If there was any big problem, your doctor would warn you to watch your caffeine intake will on a medication. because caffeine is so commonly used

Pre-med At Grove City College. for 3 years

I was too dumb to pass Calc III, Physics II, Organic Chem, and Molec Bio. So I took the easier route finished with a bio and psych degree and went to grad school to become a Psychologist.

In some states, I could easily be licensed to prescribe Medications. But I'm not really a fan of that Movement.

Muddy, consult a Real doctor if you have any real concerns. I don't think you do though...

Nah, I just had a look at some info on the web and I don't see any issues. I think the dude that made the comment was just one of those self-appointed experts (who actually know nothing) that you come across from time to time.

But his words have stuck with me like a bad song.

Babe don't be shy
When you're holding my hand
'Cause this time goes back
You got to understand it's you

Ba ba ba baby in your eyes
I see it so clearly that our love it's so strong
And you never go wrong
I got the best for you so i'm waiting down
If you need someone
Baby call my line
Call me anytime

I've been searching high high high
I've been searching low

After further research, it looks like I should also be asking about the effects of the orange juice I generally wash my pills down with before I start chugging the coffee. I see that is frowned on by some.

I think maybe I need to reorganize my whole shit.

I think it depends on the drugs. I know there are a few things that I'm not supposed to abuse (food wise) while on certain meds. If you look at the prescription info it will have the different interactions with meds/foods.
