I have maybe five friends and many, many people I like and spend time with. I am picky when it comes to friends, but those that I have know everything about me. They know every embarrassing moment, every crush, every victory and every defeat. They would give me money, let me live with them, and they accept me. They get my life uncensored and I don't censor them when I seek their advice. They are ruthless. Yes, I need them. I need those few special people more than anything or anyone else.

I dumped a friend about a year back. We had been friends for about 30 years and I had been the best man at his wedding - twice - but problems arose around a loan I gave him. That sucked.

I do not make friends - real true friends - easily. I have only a small number of friends but it is excellent to have them.
