When I lived in Vegas, every a Monday I was in a competitive eating contest throughout the NFL season. Winners received free plays, free hotel stays, cabanas and free food credit.

Of the 15 weeks I entered (missed a couple) I only didn't place in the prizes once.

It was watermelon and I got a piece lodged in my throat. They have the 10 competitors on a stage eating and the sight of people cheering me on as I thought I was going to die was very scary and surreal.

Suffice to say, when I was finally able to get the watermelon dislodged with some help, I was shaken up.

I had trouble swallowing for about two days. Crazy stuff.

All in all though I would say I won close to $2000 in stuff over those weeks.

A little Casper trivia. I had no idea. What else did you eat...ever do wings? Did you have to pay for your own food?

I once ate 106 wings at a Fuddruckers in NJ when I was in high school.

The Vegas foods were

Wings
Dim Sum
Pizza
Ice Cream Sundae
Hot Dogs
Watermelon
Apple Pie

I can't remember the others off the type of my head.

The food and entry were free. Every week, one of the plates were spiked with hot sauce. If you got the hot sauce and still won, the prize was double.

How's the bathroom scene at those things after? People purging themselves? I'd imagine a plunger or two might come in handy.

It was a timed thing so it whomever finished the plate first second or third. It was speed not quantity so the toilets were fine.

I never gave plasma or blood. I did sign up for those medical tests, but chickened out from doing them.

I can't donate plasma or blood. I've tried a bunch of times, but my veins are too small, half the time they can't even find them....which is odd because when I get blood work done they have no problem with it....ok they struggle to find the vein, but, they get it done.
