So Price is going to be the pitcher that elevates the Blue Jays to the top of the non elite AL East?

Remind me how that worked out for the Rays.

It's an exciting development. I'm not a big proponent of trading a top prospect's 10 year future, for 12 (or whatever) starts from a guy who is becoming a free agent.

But if you're going to do it, it's hard to think of a better guy.

Not only does he hopefully help you make the post-season, but he is about the best you can do as a starter for a 1-game wildcard playoff - or game 1 of a longer series.

Now of course that all depends on not having to use him in the last game to get to that wildcard or whatever . . .

Dunno. My interest is definitely upped. I will say that.

On an aside, I was listening to some scuttlebutt on the radio and they said he is expected to be looking for a free agent deal of about $230 million for 6 years.

Man o man. Jays going for it. Got a left-fielder and possible lead-off hitter with some speed, Ben Revere. Apart from Latroy Hawkins who was part of the Tulowitzki deal, they picked up another respectable bullpen arm in David Lowe.
