It's an exciting development. I'm not a big proponent of trading a top prospect's 10 year future, for 12 (or whatever) starts from a guy who is becoming a free agent.
But if you're going to do it, it's hard to think of a better guy.
Not only does he hopefully help you make the post-season, but he is about the best you can do as a starter for a 1-game wildcard playoff - or game 1 of a longer series.
Now of course that all depends on not having to use him in the last game to get to that wildcard or whatever . . .
