Do you have Italian newspapers or Italian language television or radio programming in your area?

There is quite a bit of Italian language programming in Toronto.

There is an Italian newspaper, radio and TV

News:
Corriere Canadese, the only daily Italian newspaper published in Canada, was founded in 1954 by Daniel Iannuzzi. Since 1995 it also has a weekend edition entirely in English, entitled Tandem.

Radio:

Television:

:italia:

What have you guys got?

No Plommer, we have no Italian speaking channels in the Philly and surrounding area! No newspapers either that I know of!

Believe or not Italian residents of the US have adjusted well to learning and speaking English while living here. We do have the best damn food on the planet here or wherever Italians reside! :italia:

Sorry pal, this is false. You cunts call pasta sauce "gravy" for fucks sake.

Its actually called "Sugo di Pomodoro" - we just called it sugo. My Italian grandmother used to make the best stuff around.

I'd bet the Italian food in Toronto is much more authentic than the Americanized stuff in Jersey.

Mr Monkey as far as speaking English goes every Italian I know speaks English, most of my friends growing up spoke both English & Italian at home.

I think it has to do with the fact that the Italians immigrated to the US before Canada and the Italians here held on to their heritage.

Are there any neighborhoods in Jersey where you still hear Italian being spoken fluently?

I heard it all the time in many parts of my hometown.

Toronto has the largest Italian speaking community outside of Italy.

Sorry bout the food statement cause their are some eateries here that do serve the "sweet" sauce which blows. I believe you that Toronto has better Italian food than the Philly area.

No, South Jersey has no towns or communities that speak Italian fluently! There are though places all over here that speak Spanish fluently! :whistling:

And no way on God's green earth that your grandmama's gravy is better than MrsM's! Remember, we are 100% of Italian descent. I surmise your grand mama's meatballs resemble the look of matzo balls, Mr. Plomstein?

mama non (nona) died in 1998 and I haven't had her sugo in a long time so your wife wins this time.

Matzo balls? I don't think so pal.

Slow day at the coal mines, Plommstein?

testa dura: yes, all the guys are at the mine working, I'm in my room relaxing until its time to go pick them up and bring them back to the camp.

Daft, can you answer the question?
