I have a lot of ideas and prospects on this topic that seem like more than just random thoughts.

First thing, sitting down with a couple guys tomorrow about creating a TV series. It revolves around the world of professional rasslin'.

My co-creators are 2 brothers. The subject matter is their idea which apparently they have been cogitating over for quite awhile, and they want to move forward, and they asked me in. It was not something that immediately grabbed me but I figgered, can't hurt to gab about it. But now, as it has been churning away in the background all day, I am starting to feel some ideas for characters and plotlines.

I have done a lot of creative projects in my life but it's been a long time since I attempted to collaborate with anyone. Like, not since high school - which was not a recent thing for me. I've always tended towards more of a solo, cocooning style.

Never done a teleplay but I did start a screenplay at one time.

So it should be interesting.

The big issue for me is work habits.

And leadership. Okay two big issue: work habits and leadership.

And sales ability: Okay three big issues. The three big issues are . . .

No that's the big question in my mind. I don't know these guys real well. One works with me and he's in sales - so that seems good.

But it is not hard to find people who will come up with an idea - but do they have what it takes to finish it. I do. I have written 3 novels. I did that neverending music project. Took a year and a half longer than I thought - but I finished it.

I finish things.

I like these guys. They're funny and intelligent. But do they have what it takes to build a large complex project and see it through to the end?

:dunno:

Shouldn't take long to find out what I'm dealing with because, as they know, my attentions are going to be divided at the start for some time - as I will soon set about trying to pitch and sell my music project in various ways.

Basically all I'll be doing for them for awhile is ideas. I have lots. I am being flooded with them. Some of them are damn good I think.

But basically all I will be willing to do for quite awhile is fire off emails explaining different ideas as they occur to me. Someone else is going to have to set up files and organize - and just generally push things forward and DO WORK.

As I say, shouldn't take long to see what I'm dealing with.

Yap. Definitely some research involved. Will need to watch things and read things.

While I probably know more about rasslin' than soccer, I don't know much.

I see a lot of comic possibilities around steroids. Steroids should basically be not just a story arc - but a permanent character. I could see reading up on steroids and my brain going off on a million comic tangents.

Tone is my big question for the first meeting. Are we being absurdist? Or are we trying to be more grounded with real life poignancy mixed in - because a lot of rasslers do end up crippled and dead. They have families and people who care about them like the rest of us.

I vote dark and absurdist. I like the Seinfeld philosophy of no hugs, no lessons. People can have funny deaths.

But it's these guys' vision. At this point, I don't even know if they're thinking 22 minute sitcom, or full HBO hour drama-with-some-laughs.

Or wut?

There is only one candidate.

I was supposed to get a text about when and where we are meeting. We were talking about getting together right around now but the text hasn't happened yet and we all live in different directions so one would expect at least a couple hours between text and meeting.

I wonder if my cell phone even does texting any more? That would definitely be a factor if it doesn't.

Not joking neither. It definitely used to, but I cancelled a bunch of stuff from Rogers (the company that does my phones/TV/internet) awhile back. Striving to get the dollars down, don't cha know.

Maybe I cancelled my text plan. It would make sense. The number of texts I have sent in my life ---> if it has reached double digits, it is only just barely.

That could definitely be a monkey wrench in the works.

What are the novels about?
