You always bet ATB Casper? I never saw the value in it. Makes some sense I guess on a long-shot you like, but even then I'd probably just go WP. Such weak return on the show bet, I'd rather use those funds on exotics or going bigger on the win.

I have hit on minus show pool bets. I tend to play horses in the 8-1 range, so my show bets pay decent enough. I never pay chalk. I will play a $2 exacta box w 4 horses, but for this thread and my bankroll, I’m playing conservative
