I was going to start a thread about this yesterday. I've never been to AC, but after going to Vegas for so long I doubt I would have a decent time. I heard the area around the casinos is a dump and pretty sketchy. Not that that's any different than Freemont St., but the strip is pretty tame.

I read last week that Trump has ordered his name off his property there and wants if down by September. I think his property is losing a ton of money as well.

AC is cool because it's on a very long beach.

Imagine a smaller, slightly more ghetto version of Vegas on the beach.

Luxurious upper class neighborhoods/beaches just a mile away from the casino area.

It's a fun weekend.

The history adds to the charm.

I have been going to AC for almost 20 years and I never once felt like it was a great vacation destination.

A walk on the Boardwalk holds value for all of an hour.

The casinos are nothing spectacular.

The surrounding areas are downright dangerous.

At least Vegas has over the top scenery. AC has nothing close to that.

yup..only so many lttle shitty novelty stores you can stand...every one selling trinkets and touristy shit...i was disappointed..

i actually liked some of the casinos... there was no way Revel would stay open...entirely too much money for that joint... i got a little lost in tropicana while leaving the candy store in there and ceasars was a fun walk around

water was too cold to swim, but the beach area has too many shells/broken shells and shit for me... hard to walk on and hard to get comfy on a towel
