I finally heard some chat about this - so I guess it really happened.

Dudes on the radio found some cause for optimism. They like our coach's style - i.e. - he doesn't just play for the 0-0 draw as some past coaches have done.

Also we apparently have a very promising up-and-coming player. 16 years-old, this kid. He is the first person born in the 2000's to score a goal in an official major international soccer tournament. So yay.

I can't help but be skeptical - but then again even if we did get good, I still wouldn't watch - so what's the point?

Yeah I guess I might watch a bit if they improved to the point where they were competitive for a medal or something. Our women have been pretty good for awhile and I remember watching a chunk of one of their games at the London Olympics on their way to a Bronze.


I don't know what happened to Freddy Adu. Maybe he metamorphosized into a giant cockroach.
