I'll start:

My favorite current books:

1) Sportsbetting.com -- this might be the best place ever. Gigantic selection of betting options combined with completely incompetent bookmaking, customer service, and everything else. They somehow pay fast too.

2) Hollywood/Linesmaker (jazette books) -- surely not the safest of places to play, but they pay in 1-2 days by e-wallets these days (even to usa via use my wallet). Live betting and props are still easy as it gets here too.

3) VIP.com -- they need to come back to usa now. my limits are $200 on everything but they are posting nfl props before any
other online book every week

My current shit books:

1) BetUS -- since their 2 minute delay isn't apparently long enough to get the right line I've been given $50 limits. This would be fine except that they apparently didn't count any of the 100k in bets I already made towards my rollover.

2) BetPhoenix -- Is anyone home over there? Can they produce a functioning website sometime this decade? Again with the stupid delays. This book needs to decide what it wants to be before they run out of money.

3) SportBet -- stop sending me bonus offers via email and phone and then telling me I am not eligible because I already have a 5dimes account. everyone has a 5dimes account.

4) Guardian -- Probably not a good idea to post up 5k here for a 50% free play with 10x rollover. The limits are tiny, they clone pinny, and they give you a delay. And they offer almost nothing but straights and totals full games. I might be tied up here for 5 years finishing the rollover.

This should probably be in the Ask an Angry Sharp thread. I'm sensing a tone.

I used to give money to Sportsbook.com before I became informed. It's frightening to imagine how many players they have ripped off.

I'll be honest (and don't take this the wrong way) but I thought you were joking at first, maybe satirizing some forums recommended list. Sportsbetting and Hollywood are not books that I hear a lot of good buzz about.

But those are some fresh perspectives. I have been getting spam from Hollywood for quite awhile and just ignoring it. Maybe I should pay more attention.

VIP is terrific, I agree. Too bad they turn so many customers away.

I don't agree with the assessment of Phoenix as a shit book. They have been sending good money my way for awhile.

But as for the general topic question of if we can talk about sportsbooks here, my answer is we better be able to or I will freak out on people's heads.

Sportsbetting, I've never heard of betmate I don't think.

Betmate is an exchange, a skin of Betdaq but commission is 3% instead of Betdaq's 5%.

I mainly use them for booking horse racing action on the major US tracks, I take action on favourites and offer a better price than the track, been doing very well so far.
Horseplayers think nothing of betting a runner at +250 or less in a 10 horse field.

This wasn't meant to be a rating of the books, just more of which books offerings/services did I happen to like at the moment. Obviously these books aren't exactly Pinny or Greek, but they are also far easier to beat. Phoenix has been quite good to me, perhaps I let the other forums rub off on me in including them on the list. Nevertheless, if a C- book like sportsbetting.com can send out 9k wires everyday, why can phoenix not send more than 4k a week?

If playing at a Jazette book, I'd start with linesmaker or betusa, those are the ones that overturned all the sportsbook.com home office thefts for their sites. Hollywood is under the main group, I'm just happening to have a bit of a nice run there, and they haven't limited me as fast as the others and they are giving 20% bonuses. They are all paying fast by ewallets this days mudcat, so you should certainly check them out. You will certainly find stuff to bet.

I'm considering posting up with SIA since I've never given them the opportunity to win my money. What do you guys consider a safe amount to throw their way and if I do happen to win there somehow, what kind of running balance is safe there? When you get cut from SIA are your funds still relatively safe so long as you haven't aliased?

If you aren't multi accounting them you get will paid no matter what the amount. They seem to audit accounts sooner if you cash out, best to not cash out until they kick you out I think.

The US deposit options suck, probably can't get much more than 1k in there to start anyway. Best to keep below their already low limits. FWIW you'd be able get way more out of sportsbetting and faster

don't know if I'm the best person to answer since I always seem to have less trouble than others. For me, I have played at SIA for years and consider them a very good out to have and I have never had a problem with a payout. That has been Moneybookers and Neteller before that.

There has never been an easier book to meet a rollover if you take a bonus.

From what I gather, they are not consistent in when they limit you. 10K seems like a reasonable rule-of-thumb. They generally cut you down to 25%, then 10%, then nothing.

I have a whole special technique in how I play there. I pass up some +ev opportunities and go out of my way to use them on the -ev side of scalps, trying to keep my account in good standing for when the big arb/middles come along.
