California man pleads guilty to trying to sell fighter jet to Iran

I saw this headline flash past on CNN and it made me chuckle a bit. Does this guy just have an old fighter jet that he doesn't use anymore lying around in his backyard? Was he actually planning on flying it there? How do you even call up Iran and ask them if they want a fighter jet?
