Flyers starting goalie Brian Boucher is out so Michael Leighton will start.

If they are tied at 2-2 a push is assured, if teams aren't tied look for empty net goals, more than one empty net goal is very possible.

The possibility of a 4-2 or greater score is also possible.

Realistically, for this wager to lose the score would have to be 1-1 or so late into the 3rd period, with a backup goalie starting for Philly and the possibility of empty net goals the OVER 5 looks as a very good wager tonight.

Plommer, I wonder why the total's so low for that game, considering it's been pretty high scoring.
Also you've been slacking on your Guru picks. Get to it.

Might have something to do with the fact Boston got shutout last game, I don't see either goalie getting a shutout tonight and should Philly get down a goal or two they will abandon defense in order to achieve a comeback, which will lead to more scoring chances both ways.

I really like the over in this game, its a dime play for me. $1330 to win $1000.

I agree with this thinking. Well aside from the laying out a dime and a half. I am still betting this however, but just for funzies amount of around $100.
Anyway, maybe the line is so low because the flyers got Gagne back and Boston had so few shots on goal in the last game. So Unless the Flyers do like they did in the last game and nearly shut out the Bruins, I see this game going as a push in the very least. Like you said, if the Flyers get down by the end of the second period, look for them to open it up and have the defensive dudes come in more agressively. That will lead to more scoring chances at both ends, and unlike the Halak dude for Montreal, the Boston dude hasn't been standing on his head, and the Philly bro has been on the bench eatting cheesesteaks (with wiz) for the last 3 months.

I'm starting to get superstitious about posting my plays.

This game looks like it has NO chance of getting to 5! None.

I'm seriously looking forward to the end of hockey this year, and the start of Canadian football.

Mudcat and Matty are in the basement and Plommer is afraid to play.:duh: You Canadians are gonna have some splaining to do

Reno:

I'm shellshocked. Yesterday I made my biggest wager of the NHL season and it was a loser.

It became evident early in the game that they weren't going to score much and I really was only clinging to hope watching.

The Flyers and Bruins played dump & chase with no offense, hardly any scoring chances, etc. etc. hard to watch.

So my confidence is low at the moment, and I don't want to make any picks.

Now Montreal beat Pittsburgh and many are talking Stanley Cup, and I disagree.
The way I see it the Canadiens have just made it a lot easier for the Western Conference winner to win the Cup.
Can a mediocre team like the Canadiens go all the way? I seriously doubt they can continue to beat better teams on goaltending alone.

In a way I'm mad at myself 'cause I said before the playoffs that I would fade the Penguins no matter what and then backed off when they drew the Canadiens.

Reno, no plays for me for a while, in a way I'm hoping Montreal gets to the finals so I can get some of my money back.

But what do I know? I think the Habs beat Boston or Philly and make it to the Cup finals where they probably lose in 4 or 5 games to Chicago or San Jose.

I hear you pal. It's a difficult business sometimes.
I almost gave up on em after game 5. I just can't resist such big prices.

Plus, I like their style: composure, patience, wide passes. Reminds me a little of old Soviet teams. They always got outshot too.
