pinnacle is starting to move the Hallman line against me, bastards !!

really want to put something down on alves but I'm a bit hesitant because of the two surgeries, when the fight was first announced I was heavy on Alves

can't believe I missed the anderson by sub prop at +1000, it's down to +500 already

God bless chael sonnen :tomato:

"This guy is no more real than the Loche Ness Monster, and if he needs me to expose him I will. I'll tell ya, the guys in the back know who the REAL tough guy is. If we walked in the back and Anderson said 'Put on Hip Hop', and Chael walks in and says 'put on country', I guarantee you there is gonna be a hoe down. The guys are gonna do what I say."

and Ed's like "OMG, did we just teleport to the 15th century?" and I was like "no Ed, we're actually still in the taxi cab, and btw teleportation hasn't been invented yet, you must be kind of stupid."

"Getting a black belt from a noguiera is like getting a toy in a happy meal. One nog is a punching bag and the other is irrelevant.

That's a big difference. I became the number one contender in February and February 7 he sent out a press release as to why he shouldn't have to fight me. On August 7 he will fight me. I stand here of my own free will. He stands here because Uncle Dana is making him."

“Look, I’m not a gang banger. I don’t talk about “respect.” That term is for street thugs, not me.”

"Ed [Soares], pray to whatever Demon effigy you prance and dance in front of with your piglet tribe of savages that I decide not to CRUCIFY you."

I guess I understand why he is doing all of this bs talking but at the same time, what does it say about the sport that I love that this guy basically talked his way into a title shot. I believe there is about a 6% chance that Sonnen may win by decision and that is the only way he will win. I hope Silva puts on a performance like he did against Griffin.

Also Illmatick, I asked you what you thought about Alves and Fitch on SBR but I am glad you said something about it on here. I personally like Alves also but it bothers me that he has been out so long with injuries and pretty substantial injuries at that. Also it seems like everybody likes Fitch and it all comes down to whether or not Fitch can keep taking him down like he did 4 years ago. And now we hear problems about him makin weight. That bothers me also.

The guy is a quote machine. No doubt about that. Hopefully he is getting some kickbacks from Dana because there is no doubt they will sell more PPV's because of Sonnen's hype alone...to either see him back it up or get his ass handed to him.

With the weight issues I think Alves is an absolute no play. Alves had NO takedown defense against GSP so I don't think he will magically find some. Expect Fitch to hump him for 2.5 rounds and Alves to not have enough cardio in round three to catch him. I am considering a Fitch play.

The smack talk has Dana written all over it. Sonnen has never talked so much shit about any other opponent. I think Dana put him up to it to sell the fight because no one wanted to pay $50 to see Anderson clown around for 5 rounds again. Now he has created a lot of hype for what would have been a mediocre fight. And for the record I'd love to see Sonnen ground and pound the shit out of him.

Can't wait to go to the bar for this one. People will probably be going nuts.

This, after a day of going to see Dinner with the Schmucks and Step Up 3D!!! Yea dog!!!

LOL!!!! Tell me you are joking about the Step Up 3D.....haha I was just making fun of this movie to my gf. Like the first one wasn't bad enough, now they had to make one in 3D.

Also Bread, don't forget about your promise to do a write up. Seriously, those are all I look forward to on my Saturdays (pathetic, I know).

Also HOFF, why do you think Alves was able to stuff Koscheck takedowns? Do you think he is just better at stuffing the bull double leg takedowns and it is harder for him to shake off Fitch from the clinch and that is why Fitch is more successful at the takedowns?

If I remember right, Koscheck rarely tried to take Alves down. He may have tried a couple times but was not determined to get him down. That fight was during Koscheck's phase of trying to prove he had stand up and was not just a wrestler (also Yoshida and Thiago fights). Fitch HAS to take every fight to the ground, that's all he has. His clinch takedowns, doubles, and single leg takedowns are all top notch. Fitch is too smart to try and stand.
