Any idiot can make money with an NFL franchise, what with socialist revenue sharing and salary caps, not so easy in the EPL. Gillet and Hicks go home with their tails between their legs.

Although the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City are bankrolled by insanely rich suitors, it's not quite as bad (though not particularly good) for the rest of the Premier League clubs.

So on Wednesday, Liverpool won a ruling in the London High Court which paved the way for a $500 million sale to New England Sports Ventures. Later on in Texas, a State District Court granted Hicks/Gillett a temporary restraining order preventing the sale of the club as well as suing the Liverpool Board, NESV and the bank controlling the club's debt for a total of $1.6billion in damages.
