Best Free Site to Test Upload & Download Speeds?

Would appreciate feedback greatly! Going to work so will check out later! Verizon stop giving me monthly bill discount and would save lots of cash to switch to Comcast with 2 year deal! Called Verizon and Rep said can't continue to do! She said call back supervisor who handles cancellations on Monday to see what they can do!

Switch to Verizon 3 years ago from Comcast and don't see much difference in internet or TV quality! Verizon's deal for 2 years was too good to turn down plus Comcast as the only shop in area fuked us over good for years! Even gave Comcast chance to give us some kind of discount but no go! Loyal guy so even if discount given still sufficiently higher than Verizon offer! Thought change over pain in the ass but found out they used the same inside cables!

Before I call next week just like to know my accurate speeds I'm getting! Don't want to switch to Comcast and find out our computer runs slower! Biggest concern I see from what we do! Our eyes not great anymore so what do I know from clear picture to a clearer picture on the tube! Now slow conversito with my pals at GL, that's a major issue that will not be tolerated! :yes:

No way mister monkey, unless you're going save a lot I wouldn't switch, but if it's something like $5 or $10 saving I wouldn't. Remember how I told you how good your internet was. Hassle Verizon until they give you a cheaper offer.
 
Having said that I've seen connections of 60 down from Comcast but that was a Comcast Business connection that is something like $200 a month. But maybe they have been improving their service for home, it all depends on your area.

I agree! I'm not a nickel and dimer guy but not using a calculator I know I would save roughly 50-60 bucks (if not more) a month switching to Comcast! Any hardcore gambling degen would gobble* it up ASAP! I do my homework and I'm talking apple to apple coverage!

That's why if say I get Comcast before tech leaves we test the internet speed, if not at least the same as Verizon, that's it, take your equipment and hit the pike ..... of course these guys from what I hear can turbo charge you and of course some cash would be handed to my friend! Hopefully he's not a hardcore company man!

Stay with Comcast 2 years and then go back to Verizon if they don't after the prom 2 years ends give me a comp 20 buck discount every month like Verizon did until now! I'm paying over 200 a month for service!

Rep girl could give me 10 bucks but said talk to supervisor this week and see if you could get the 20 I want! I cancelled Comcast 3 years ago and say 2-3 months go by and unreal but guy knocks at my door and gives me deal that save me like 100 bucks a month! Would have to pay early term fee to Verizon like 150! Guy looked at me like nuts when I said no ty!

Told him see, if rep only gave me that 20 bucks over the phone you would have kept me ..... be making lot more too than the offer you present me with today! Had them as cable company from day one! We shall see, don't want to switch but if Verizon supervisor thinks I bluffing she's mistaken! Can she be that stupid not to know what the competition has out there?

That's how Sam Walton beat the competition back in the day! He went into his comp stores and for every item Walmart charged more, he made his company change the price a hair lower on those items! That's why America is going in the dumper! You can't hide behind a computer punching in crap without walking the pavement making sure things are facilitated!

Careful what speed they are offering in that sweat discount. I think they'll just give you the slowest. I know their fastest is $Seventysomething. I wouldn't trust if guy tells you he can hook you up with faster speed if you bribe him as that is something they control rigorously, not like the old cable tv days where they manipulated the boxes locally or at the post and the company had no idea.

Thanks RJ and I will! Phone and TV clarity no big priority but ....... say I don't want discount and they don't want to give it but for the 20 bucks more monthly, what should I accept in internet speeds greater than the down 25 and up 5 I have now to be a fair deal? Maybe faster internet I'll keep paying more!
 
Good news RJ! Spoke to supervisor in cancellations dept on Friday and gave me what I wanted! He says the bill will be discount with new total $33 lower monthly but I think it will really be $23 from my calcs! No problem cause he upped us to the 50/25 internet speeds!

You were right, techs at home don't do that anymore it seems cause the supervisor did it right over the phone! Said give it one day to activate! Checked speedtest yesterday and today and at range of 42-58 download and 22-29 upload! :up:
