This outbreak in the DR Congo has been going on for a while now. At least more than a year. From what I remember it's already endemic there.

This is totally different from Covid. That was a respiratory disease, this one is a contact based one. Just don't go sticking your dick in a Congolese hooker, or poking your finger in a lesion of a sick individual. The reason it spread in the Congo is a cultural one. People don't take it as serious as say ebola and they mishandle the dead. They still proceed with burial rituals that contaminate others and it keeps on spreading. There are two types one more dangerous than the other.
