I am blanking on how to do this.

If 1.02^x=1.3333, how do you solve for x?

I'm not positive I am using universal symbols there. ^ is supposed to mean "to the power of."

1.02 to the power of what equals 1.3333?

I'm not looking for a number as much as the function I need to solve a problem in that format.

is equal to
log(sub 1.02) 1.3333 = t
so that you can solve it via calculator, do it like this

log 1.3333 over log 1.02 = t

use your calculator to solve it...

x=14.53

Yeah I figured it was some kind of logarithm situation.

It appears that the passing of the years and decades have tragically robbed me of my facility with logarithms.
