What do you make of this? I always get nervous for the kids in these situations. consensus # 1 pick, staying in college.

Hopefully they take out a very nice insurance policy on his health

my take... he isnt getting drafted before cam newton and its a possible lockout year...

most experts and non-experts would disagree with the Cam Newton theory..... the collective bargaining agreement is one of the reasons, he SHOULD leave.

even if he stays as the #1 pick for the next year's draft, the cap on rookie bonuses that will result from the lockout/new contract will drastically reduce his earnings

you would think with the fine showing in the bowl game that he wouldnt have much competition for the 1st qb drafted, but with locker, mallet and newton around, he might not be the first qb picked and looks like a qb might not be the first overall pick anyways... then again, he just might be one of those hardheaded kids that has to have a college degree to make him and his family feel good...its not like those fuckers arent spoon fed answers to exams and have half their work done by tutors.

Jake Locker would have been a top10 pick lat year if he came out, not this year.

Seems Luck wants to graduate which he will in the Spring of 2012. Also I think the lockout is a big issue. Young QB's need to develop, what is Luck going to do but sit on his ass if there a lock out. His father played in the NFL, so I dont think he his crying poverty, also, maybe he didn't want to play for Carolina.

It worked for Peyton Manning staying for his senior year.

Good point Durito..... they have to have somthing in place before they sign the draftees.

from what I understand, he comes from a decent amount of money. As long as they got some sizeable insurance on him. I admire his decision.

College is a good time, and he still young.

I'd really like to know how all the different variables factored into his decision. But I don't think we'll ever really know

yeah I factor in the "being big man on campus" argument... although being an nfl pro with 50 million dollars, that can fly back to campus any time he wants 6 months out of the year ain't too bad either...

the diploma/education argument... I don't buy as much... because most pros with an IQ over 100 (read white) easily can finish their degree, if they leave early. in various ways.

I just wonder, how much has to do with Harbaugh, the disdain of the potential to going to a place like Carolina, ect

It's not possible for it not to be.

Reading into the owners firing of head coaches or more NOT FIRING some think the new CB might take awhile to get done and maybe no preseason?

How do coaches like Lewis and Kubiak keep their jobs? Dallas and Minny stick with guys that know the system. Coughlin and Turner should have been shown the door IMO also. If this CB thing drags on, new coaches have no chance of implementing system.

Of course crazy Al Davis finally gets to 8-8 after so many losing years in a row and he fires the dude! I love Al. JUST WIN BABY!
:lmao:

Luck's parents have lots of dough right and Luck might be nervous if there is a lockout, what does he do next year? I mean if he sat around for a year, would he be still the #1 pick next year. Out of sight, out of mind.

I mean look at Jim Harbargh. Guy coaches little school in San Diego, 4 years at Stanford with 8-5 last year until this monster season and all at once teams love him and Miami wants to make him the highest paid coach in NFL history? WTF?

And RayRay, by all accounts Luck is the lock of all locks to be #1 this year.

And RayRay, by all accounts this guy is the lock of locks to go 1 this year!
