Do you Americans have a party that's left of the Democrats but a bit right of the Green party? Alberta elected such a party (NDP) after 44 years of Conservative rule.

:wtf:

With a bit of luck, the price of gas is going to shoot back up to 100 bucks a barrel and people will immediately regret electing those hippies.

Oh Canada. :canada:

Machu listen to that set by Lissie and tell me if you don't NEED to hold her and tell her everything's alright. Me too on the two monitors. Except I don't have a "small one"

:fuckyourmother:

The other one only has the laptop hooked up to the big screen, I know.

:nelson: --> "small one"

Left is nanny state, high taxes, redistribution of wealth, safety nets for the chronically poor, etc.
Right is small govt, low taxes, pure capitalism, personal responbility, etc.

That's before layering in religious issues. The left typically believes in the separation of church and state, while the right is big on "family values" and not giving in to your homo impulses (lolz)

The current US and Canadian govts are pretty moderate, center-left (US) to center-right (Canada).

I don't know about the Alberta NDP, but their Ontario chapter is quite far to the left.

Oh, and to answer your question...no, none of which I am aware anyway. The Green Party, Libertarians and a few other grassroots/regional parties may get on the ballot, but for all practical purposes, we are a two party system..at least on the National Level. I have never seen any of these other parties gain much momentum...unless you count Independents as a "party."

What is reno?

I'm not sure that that is a serious question, but reno is far-left with some anarchist tendencies. The NDP's ideas are right in line with his, although they need to take it down a notch when they're in power, because the world is not actually made of unicorns.

But yes, reno = true left = NDP = Canada's Texas's new majority govt
