When Andre Agassi, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Pete Sampras took to the court on Friday in a charity fundraiser for the Haiti earthquake victims you'd be forgiven for thinking that the rivalry would have been between Federer and Nadal who are arguably the current top two tennis players in the world. In a doubles game where entertainment was a priority over performance, with all players wearing microphones, it was the two retired players who brought their off court rivalry to a TV audience.

After Agassi slammed Sampras, the 14 time grand slam winner, in his 2009 autobiography Open calling him robotic, dull and having a lack of inspiration, it appears that the pair have yet to kiss and make up despite an invitiation from Sampras in January to discuss it man to man. During the match, Sampras did an impression of Agassi's famous waddling walk before inviting a reposte. Agassi didn't disappoint as he made a reference to Sampras' reputation for being a bad tipper. That was quickly followed by a Sampras serve right at Agassi's head.

Although it was hardly in the spirit of a charity event, it certainly made for excellent viewing.

LOL Rafa had no clue what was going on there. He really wanted to get the hell out of there.

Pete should've just flashed some pictures of his wife.

Always rooted for Andre against the Pavy like Giant, but he was hitting below the belt here for sure! I do despise people with money who are such cheap tippers! Your blessed like that and you can't put a smile on someone's face. Name me one service offered where tipping is allowed that is a high paying profession? :dunno:

LOL, I'll never be able to watch a Sampras match again without thinking of Pavy. What a great comparison.

I was always an Agassi fan too, but he's really turned into something of a punk lately. Sampras started with a little good natured humor, and all of a sudden Andre got nasty about it. I think there's a big difference between imitating an idiosyncracy and calling someone out in public for being cheap. I kept waiting for Jerry Springer to climb down out of the chair umpire's seat and start stirring the pot!

I wish I had watched it live, though. Once I saw the format was exhibition doubles with these four, I figured the quality of tennis would be pretty poor. Little did I know that those old farts would behave like that on court.

I will never forget the first time I saw Agassi play. He was like 17 going against Ivan Lendl and was getting his shorts beat off of him. But he kept making cracks in between points and had the crowd loving him. Poor Ivan who already looked like his face would break if he smiled was sooooo pissed. It was hilarious.
