Of the 10 pictures nominated for Best Picture, the only ones I would like to see win is "Winter's Bone" and "Toy Story 3". No chance of that happening though. the other movies in the running are overrated. "The Kings Speech" is good but being an English film helped it's street cred. Social Network and Black Swan were VERY overrated. Best actor category is the one that I find most interesting and toughest to call with Firth, Franco and Bardem in the running.

I didn't like Toy Story 3 much. Mild thumbs up I suppose but definitely not Oscar material in my book.

It is one of the few nominees I have seen. I just don't get out to movies any more. I think the last movie I saw in the theater was Precious.

I've got a few of the nominees on my ziplist (for DVD rental). I am anxious to check them out.

I don't think that the writing was atrocious, but I reckon that it wasn't remarkable in any way. It was all Portman and Aronofsky for sure. I have to watch the other nominated movies to figure out their chances of winning in their respective category.

Agree on Mila being underused, although that's just us being pervs.

Casper let's write our own Mila-heavy movie.

She was the perfect casting choice though as N. Portman's flip side/evil twin.

Oh, the casting was fantastic. I invented a drinking game. Every time their is a crotch grab you do a shot. Every time Natalie Portman says "I'm Sorry" you drink a beer and every time the word bitch is said, you smack the girl on your left.

Aronofsky is not big on dialogue. It's all raw emotion and in-yo-face visuals. No Kaufman-esque pedantry here.
