Well decided to stay in last night and watch a couple of movies on Netflix. One was decent if anything for some cheap laughs and the other I enjoyed a lot.
The Goods, Live Hard, Sell Hard
You will pretty much get what you came for with this thing. If you like Ari Gold (Jeremy Piven, Entourage), and want to see him goofier than ever, than you might enjoy this. This one is all about Piven as a used car salesman. Many of the crew from The Office are there (no not Michael Scott or Jenna) and it has some decent moments if you like their offbeat brand of humor. Don't be looking for any kind of depth from this one. Just good cheap laughs as Piven meshes with those guys pretty well for some decent fun if you are looking to kill 90 minutes - don't expect anything more than that. 3 out of 5 stars.
Saint John of Las Vegas
This one I enjoyed a lot. Like many of you I am a Steve Buscemi fan. He delivers dark humor as well as anyone in the world and can get serious at the toss of a dime. In this role as the lead he is an insurance guy with a compulsive lottery ticket problem who gets transferred into the fraud department with veteran and top fraud agent Romany Malco (Weeds). Their assignment (given to them by their hysterical midget boss) - go to Vegas and catch this girl whom they have been told has a huge fraudulent claim in which she claimed to be rear ended. Buscemi and Malco get into a variety of hysterical situations while the movie retains a dark humor feel, kind of like Punch Drunk Love if you will, except a lot funnier. Sarah Silverman is outstanding as Buscemi's girlfriend and the plot has many entertaining twists and turns that will keep you watching.
Excellent watch. 4 out of 5 stars.
