I disagree. Don't we want a la carte everything?
The original price is just to get you there. If you prefer a certain seat you pay - you don't have to. I frequently fly on the cheapest fare and I like that they're available. I'd rather have $59 fares with NOTHING included than everything be $99 but everyone gets to select a seat and bring a roll on board.
Do you also think a (heavier) checked bag should be included? What a about 2 checked bags?
