Seems like yesterday but it's been 10 years since 4 team playoff started. Excited by the improvement going to 12 teams this season and still a few complaints from the 13th and 14th schools not geting in, but hey, if you're that far down tough luck.

Only change I would make is reranking 12 teams selected instead of top 4 conference champions automatically getting the byes. Big12 and ACC were much weaker than SEC and BigTen. No way BST and ArizSt better than Texas, OhioSt, PennSt, ND, Tenn and even Indiana IMO.

Having it above way bracket shows Texas has favorable spot to make final 4 along with PennSt though having to win two games while unbeaten #1 Oregon has brutal matchup awaiting.

Boise State, which won the Mountain West Conference championship and has lost to only top-ranked Oregon, is the third-highest-ranked conference champion and thus received a bye into the quarterfinals despite ranking No. 9. Though Arizona State is ranked only No. 12, the Sun Devils are the fourth-highest ranked conference champion — over ACC champ Clemson (No. 16) — and earned the No. 4 seed and the final first-round bye.

There is no re-seeding once the official bracket is revealed on Sunday, Dec. 8.

Was at neighbor party that had game on but boring game from what I saw with Indiana showing very little trying to compete with Irish. Lost interest when I think IND punted down 17 around midfield early 4th quarter figuring they were only looking not to get embarrassed instead of gambling for a win. :thumbsdown:
 
Only saw SMU one time but they said had a great ranked defense against the run. Heard ex-Bama coach Saban last week discussing that the team(s) that are strong along both lines will do well. I considered it kind of a diss against the likes of SMU, Boise St, and Ariz St and even pedigree Clemson not being up to par this season in that way.

We will see how strong SMU is against Penn St rushing especially calling for freezing temps with winds. Texas just appears to talented for Clemson and best predicted competitive matchup should be Ohio St-Tenn tonight though Vols are 7 point dogs. Expect cold temps in Columbus too.

I love the SEC fans crying about SMU and Indiana. I really wanted Onenof those schools to play at ND or Penn St and see how they fare.

Well Tenn at Ohio St kinda proved your point! The Buckeyes manhandled them and that frosh receiver is a BEAST! Presently can't really grasp Texas as SEC like Oregon as BigTen but right now old school only SEC Georgia left while BigTen has OST and PST and honestly like their chances to win it more.

Being an Eagles fan watched more Georgia foots than any other team and this season weak at WR, RB and OLine protects passer but does very little in opening up holes for RBs. Even QB Beck who won't play has been inconsistent. Though as usually top sachools do, backup highly recruited and weaker at passing but better at running than Beck. Might be able to surprise ND with slightly different approach not seen on tape?

As always Bulldog defense is NASTY especially the starting front 7! If Edge #13, LB #11, and Safety #24 names aren't being called good chance they don't beat ND. #11 Walker might be only one of three not taken in 1st round but love to see Philly grab him though they don't usually prioritize the LB position.

Final point, Kirby Smart IMO one of the best coaches in college, sideline decisions on target and love how more bad than good after a player comes out, quick teaching point made to the player right then and there. In tune with everything.
 
This thread appears to have lost it's legs. Been somewhat less interested with a few non-competitive games so far. That's why I mentioned has to be a power seeding of 1-12 for teams to start playoffs without top 4 conference . champs getting 1-4 spots. Seriously Boise St and ARI St., though they came back IMO didn't deserved 3 and 4th spots. They should have been among last 4 seeds with SMU and Clemson who showed their less talented worth.

Good seeing of course wagering on playoffs and congrats to everyone having an easy Ohio St win and some winning on SunDevil comeback cover.

Looks like Saban before it all started was correct in stating the teams who "can control both lines of scrimmage" will continue on with one winning title. Not giving out teams names, but reading into it believing those were OST. PST, Texas, GA, ND, and this year's Oregon. The Ducks though appeared to show yesterday their previous year's style of being a very talented, finesse team from P12 days.

Still think of Oregon and Texas from previous conferences. With that don't think this guy presently is too happy with way playoffs are going. Glad he can wave the flag without excuses lol..

Looks like you are right with the books also not buying the SEC hype with Ohio St up to -6 over Texas. I dislike Starkisian as a coach and only one on equal terms is B Day. Crybaby Kiffin also in my group.
 
Good coach Smart made decision that inexperienced QB turned into bad decision. Already used one timeout to ice ND kicker and with that little time left very low odds getting any points. Would have felt good being down 6-3 at HT.

ND defense appears to be one of their better ones than I have seen in som e time. Down 10 with this QB don't see a comeback unless maybe GA can get a turnover. Of course GA O-line as bad at QB protection as not running ball. Didn't expect that but ND defense might be the reason.
