I have friends who have lived in both cities. You have a TOUGH choice ahead of you.

Boston: colder winters

Boston: safer (HOWEVER, Chicago isn’t NEARLY as dangerous as the Fox News crowd will have you believe)

Chicago: better iconic skyline

Chicago: has the edge on food

I feel like you will enjoy both more than Nashville.

Will you live in the city or the suburbs? I feel like Chicago is the winner if you can afford a nice neighborhood in the city proper.

I live in the Chicago area so trust me when I say if you like murders definitely come here. Fox News is immaterial, since what matters is homicide statistics. Anyway, the food here is great (no question). Not the best, but very good. The roads are a disaster, the schools are average at best, and taxes are insanely high.

Oh you'll also be close to me.

So, welcome to Boston 🦀

No, it's just showing homicide statistics.

I never said there weren't nice places here. I said the homicide rate is higher than Boston. Which it is.
Yes. I don’t think there was anyone on this board who thought that Boston had anywhere near as many homicides as Chicago.

But for Blitty deciding on where to move, I don’t think it’s very relevant. There are neighborhoods in Chicago that are as untouched by homicides as there are in Nashville and Boston.

Chicago’s very dangerous neighborhoods (like New Orleans) are the worst of the worst. Blity ain’t moving to those neighborhoods.

A few other possible options:

Tampa: Has been my preferred for the past year or so. Best chance of seeing boner and bread.

Columbus: sounds pretty sucky but might be decent. Prolly gonna suck tho.

Raleigh: kinda like Nashville I think. Safe choice.

Sounds like Boston is the winner.

My wife previously said no to Chicago.

I originally felt some resentment, but you guys made me feel better about my fomo.

If this becomes a thing let me know. I can give you advice on neighborhoods or the suburbs of Boston. Have lived in multiple Boston neighborhoods and a few suburbs. I live in NH currently and grew up In southern Maine. Both places might be considered Boston suburbs.

Left out in my last post how awesome block island and Newport RI is in the summer
