I saw the clips from the rally. Wife had to explain to me that those people were comedians.

That was comedy. Those were jokes.

we are laughing
I feel the same way watching SNL or any late night television

I'm on the fence here.

I think Tony is funny. Appreciate his brand of shock humor. Definitely think people are overreacting.

On the other hand, that particular brand of comedy may not be ideal for a political rally. This backlash certainly could have been predicted and avoided.

Agreed. That brand of humour and that joke was very misplaced at that event. Especially considering the amount of blowback it most certainly would receive from the media.

You wouldn’t catch Harris having Jemele Hill speak at one of her events. Even her handlers know that whatever she would say would be extremely racist against Caucasians.

Trump should’ve vetted better

Yeah Kamala will just have some trash twerk instead 😂

No vetting necessary and definitely not offensive at all.

(I'm not offended it's just amazing what people are offended by these days).
See I obviously didn’t find it offensive and it that joke was told in a comedy club, nobody would bat an eye. Its just the venue it was told in.

A comedian wouldn’t make Holocaust jokes at a Jewish gathering, but have no problem making them at Comic Strip in NYC

Jokes are jokes

What's the problem?

Guess Seinfeld was right lol
Cougar, I’m totally in agreement that jokes are jokes. That said, the venue for certain jokes are risky. Especially in today’s climate, if you’re running for office and have a comedian perform under your brand, you need to know it’s risky.

That’s just the world we live in now. Think about it. I bet you can name 10 comedians from 1970-2000 but not 10 comedians from 2000-now.

The reason is comedians aren’t groundbreaking anymore. They play it safe relatively

I can definitely name 10 comedians from 2000-

But I love comedy
Love the freedom of it

Also thought briefly about trying it
But it's such a grind
It would probably be just a personal check mark on the list

Best comedians ever (IMO)
CARLIN
PRYOR
CHRIS ROCK

Chris Rock's Bigger and Blacker (1999 I believe) is wildly fantastic and why I have him #3.

Love your top 3.

Carlin is God.

True story. I was at Comic Strip on a first date and out of the blue Chris Rock walked on stage w a yellow notepad and started telling jokes for 20 minutes.

It was in 1994-95 so he was in his prime. It was amazing.

No I did not get sex from the date. That kinda sucked.

Always a fan of Steven Wright as well.

dave chappelle stole my joke

Damn that was 3 years ago already!

You know it’s a bizarro world when Jeff Besos pens an op-ed and voices reason.

Knowing that the staff at the Washington Post is THAT delusional to the fact they have been spewing extreme left “news stories” for years makes me question the intelligence of our journalists.

Besos made the right decision to not endorse either candidate. I would wager that many people feel the way he does.

Supposedly they lost 200,000 subscribers. Besos won’t lose any sleep over that. His staff might want to stop bitching about his op-ed and look in the mirror.

They brought this upon themselves.
